7-Eleven® Rebrands Three North Virginia Exxon Stores Owned by Capital Petroleum Group

DALLAS (Sept. 21, 2010) – 7-Eleven, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Joe Mamo of Capital Petroleum Group LLC in Springfield, Va., to lease the retail space at three northern Virginia Exxon stations. After extensive remodeling, during which the stores will remain open, the three locations will be re-branded as 7-Eleven stores. Renovations are expected to be completed in October.

The three stores are located at:

  • 8071 Alban Rd., Springfield, Va.
  • 6730 Lee Hwy., Arlington, Va.
  • 6720 Old Dominion Dr., McLean, Va.

This new leasing arrangement, effective Sept. 20, is an example of one of the ways the 7-Eleven is growing – through arrangements with fuel distributors. The company also is adding stores by converting existing small businesses, acquisitions and organic, ground-up development.

In addition to 7-Eleven’s well known brands of Slurpee®, Big Gulp® and popular roller grill items, the stores will offer fresh foods and bakery items that are made and delivered daily.

Besides Capital Petroleum, Mamo, one of the largest motor fuel distributors in the Washington, D.C., Virginia and suburban Maryland area, also heads up DAG Enterprises Inc. Collectively through the two gas-marketing entities, Mamo owns and operates 170 Exxon and Shell stations in the area.

“We anticipate that having 7-Eleven as the store operator for these three outlets will provide greater product selection and convenience for our customers and perhaps attract more consumers to our locations,” said Joe Mamo, Capital Petroleum CEO.
